Welcome!
My name is Ann Marie Gaudon and I am a registered social worker and psychotherapist. My passion is to help others to heal, learn, and grow from life’s hardships and challenges. Amongst other adversities, I have been a chronic pain patient myself for over 40 years. It is simply not possible to live a human life untouched by suffering. We don’t however, have to let suffering dominate our lives.
You are not broken; you are “stuck” -- and we have all been here.
I practice therapeutic techniques including Polyvagal Therapy (PVT) which was developed by Dr Stephen Porges and focuses on bridging neuroscience and psychology. PVT focuses on the vagus nerve and its crucial responses to stress and trauma. Targeted interventions are aimed to regulate and optimize the different pathways within the nervous system. The therapeutic goal is to help individuals develop a sense of safety, resilience, and connection.
I also practice a duality of mindfulness-based behavioural therapy: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We will explore your thoughts and emotions, gain a different and broader perspective to your suffering, reflect on self-awareness, examine what is of value to you, and learn new tools and strategies to help you to better cope. Together we will build a new foundation which can help you to make more workable and helpful choices for your life and move toward what is important to you.
Additionally, I am a provider for the Safe and Sound Protocol which is a powerful listening therapy that can be integrated alongside with psychotherapy for optimal results.
I work with my clients to help them to establish goals, and share strategies to overcome potential barriers to them achieving their goals. Once you develop awareness, you are situating yourself to be enabled to change course. Our ultimate collaboration will be for you to grow into living a more vital and purposeful life.
I am available for online therapy and in-office therapy.
